BrightPath STEAM Academy stands as a solution to the problem of increasing Black/African American representation exposure to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) for education equality. The program inspires and opens up Black/African American youth to possibilities that have historically seemed unattainable for many.
A group of JBS students had a chance to interact with professional scientists, engineers, and physicians during Praxis Week. Designed and coordinated by STEM liaison Martha Keeley, the program connected 20 upper school students with professionals across fields such as data science, architecture, civil engineering, biotechnology, and robotics engineering.
Kudos to these students for spending their first week of summer exploring exciting future possibilities!
